Thought I would share some pictures here of what turned out to be a rather successful walk in the snow on Sunday. Even though I've lived here most my life, I've never really seen the historic town centre in the snow - so I went a bit snap happy, here are a few of them :-)

Can you believe the punt touts were out even in this weather?!

St. Johns College (I think - for a resident, I'm terrible at knowing the colleges) these guys stand here all day every day.

I love the railings with all the posters on

One of the few colleges that was open for us to cut through, can't remember which one it is though!

The only punt we saw, a rare thing to only see one on any day of the week, let alone a Sunday.

Hope these aren't too big, I checked the rules and they are on photobucket, but they do look pretty large so sorry if they are too big.

Great pics Mustard. Cambridge colleges are really lovely, arent they? As for snow angel, I could get down there but would need some hunky students to get me up again! Posted Image

Thanks guys :-)
Yes I did rather not think ahead with the snow angel! I've never done one before, but I kept thinking as I was walking that I didn't know if this could be the last time I'd be well enough to walk in such deep snow, it's not like we get this much very often and I was having a particularly good day. So I really threw myself into it, quite literally! I hadn't quite thought out how to get up again, but I managed. it was such good quality snow that I didn't even get wet, very weird, was wearing jeans too!
The colleges really are lovely, there is always quite a town v gown thing that goes on (and of course, I'm on the town side) so until I lived actually amongst them, I never really appreciated them apart from on times when someone would come to stay and I'd ride on their fresh enthusiasm. Since I've lived here (I live about 1minute from the first picture) I've really appreciated the beauty of the colleges and feel very lucky indeed to be here.

Glad you like the pictures Posted Image

Cambridge.
it has been a while since we have been there, not since they moved the park and ride to somewhere nearly in Norfolk.
Perhaps this weekend if it ever stops raining.
Great pictures.

They moved the park and ride??? There are quite a lot of them now, at least 4 if not 5. I am hoping this rain stops soon...I can't take any nice pictures in the rain!

Yes the Cowley Road one is somewhere else now.
It is damn confusing because my daughter was living off Cowley Road in Oxford.
