My name is Sarah and I am conducting a study as part of my final year work at the University of Dundee.

From the brilliant responses I received from my interview study, I have been able to build a short questionnaire looking into support groups. I would be hugely grateful if people could take ten minutes to complete the questionnaire by clicking on the link below.

You do not need to have participated in the first study. For further information please read the brief participant information sheet pasted below the questionnaire link.

PARTICIPANT INFORMATION SHEET

My name is Sarah Bickley and I am a 4th year student at the University of Dundee. I am conducting a study designed to look at the relationship between being part of a support group and your well-being. You are being asked to take part in this research, which I hope will address what these groups do best in order to make sure these aspects are maintained, and any areas which could be altered to ensure everyone feels they receive support.

The study is looking for people with MS who are members of online or face-to-face support groups, in an attempt to evaluate the benefits these groups deliver. You will be asked to complete one questionnaire including questions which discuss the support group you use, your family, and general facts about your life, health and well-being. This will require approximately 10 minutes and will be conducted online.

About Us

Founded in 2004, MS People UK is a community website and discussion forum by and for people with Multiple Sclerosis as well as for friends, families, supporters and those interested in this disabling condition.

If you’re newly diagnosed or want to ask about possible first symptoms, or if you’ve had Relapse Remit, Secondary or Primary Progressive MS for some time, a welcoming group of fellow MS sufferers is here to chat with you about MS symptoms, diagnosis and treatments.

The atmosphere is friendly whilst being compassionate, supportive and caring. Members also post about a variety of subjects not related to MS, as well as share jokes, talk about their hobbies, have fun, and more.

The MS People Forum is not responsible for advice or information supplied by members. We suggest you seek medical advice before trying anything.
