Hello Guys,

I don't know the answer as to why you cannot update your profiles.......but I know a man who probably does.....I will ask 'Heste' to take a look, and get back to you

Sorry I'm not around much, I've got a frozen shoulder (right one) which the shoulder specialist said was "about as severe as it can get"... :shithappens:

Can you please be more specific about exactly which parts of your Settings/Profile you can't change?

Hello Marina,

Hope that shoulder eases soon for you.

I wanted to delete an old email address and got the following message.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /forum/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I get the same error as Scully has detailed, when I try and update any of my profile information, e.g. my star sign.

Marina, I can't see this problem as being critical, so if you're under the weather, it can wait, I'm sure.

Hope you feel better soon.

Marina, yes me too, the same message when trying to amend personal details, sayings etc, but as John says it's more important to get your shoulder better, so you do just that and look at this prob later.

Thank's, take care

Thanks John and Cazza, but if I don't try to fix it now, I'll forget later! :lolsign:

I'm getting the same problem as all of you... Seems it might take a bit longer than I anticipated to fix. I've already run several things to try to fix it, but it makes no difference.

In the meantime, it's not totally impossible that these error pages might get thrown up when trying to do something else on the forum, like edit a post.

I just wish my shoulder could be fixed as quick as frozen shoulders usually take MONTHS to get better. I've been told to expect it to take about 18 months.........

If it helps the resolution, I noticed the problem shortly after the forum upgrade.

I just thought it was picking only onme!

That long ago? Crumbs...

Yet I've fiddled with my profile since then without problem, but I do have it now like the rest of you. On the other hand, I've heard this problem can be intermittent and erratic.

It should be working now. Can you all please give it a go just to confirm it?

Oops, spoke too soon.

I've just tried to add my star sign and get this message:-

"How did I hear about this forum?: The data you entered exceeds the maximum allowed"

What allowed maximum is beyond me - perhaps we've already got our quota of Aries people! :what:

Hmmmm, I edited the value for "How did I hear about this forum".

After a bit of tweaking, I managed to get the profile settings to save. My problem must have been the value in this field, carried over at the forum upgrade.

So, I'm fine now as well.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that. Yes, it's a blip that carried over from the old settings for those fields. Unfortunately, nowt can be done about it as it now forces you to edit it to be shorter. Sorry about that!
