Hello All,

Let's find out how you all spend your weekends. I love being nosey, and thought maybe we could get some idea's from each other.

I will start...cos I like being first in everything

I usually like to spend most weekends walking our dog in the woods. After we Bracken (our dog) has worn me out...It's time for my fave drink which is a latte. I love coffee shops, and one of my fave ways to spend the weekend is to people watch. People fascinate me.

If i am not too tired I am let out to shop. Gaynor, I have been girlie clothes shopping today... Bought a few nice tops and a skirt. Maybe I'll do shoes tomorrow

Oh! I also love Rugby. Sadly, I haven't been up to going to any Dragon matches of late.

Now your turn guys and dolls.

Please dont be shy.

Michelle :howdy: <<<<got a lot of belly to wobble of late

This weekend is the last before Tim goes back to work on Monday. We only have 2wks then till we depart for Spain so I've loads of cards to write, presents to wrap and box up (ready to post to the UK) and get myself sorted for 3 doo's we have before we go away. Time will just fly now and so therefore this weekend is a sorting and prepping one.

We went out shoping for clothes and bits today but shops are pretty poo here at party stuff, so the search goes on to complete my outfits!! Very depressing when I think of all what UK must be offering right now

Glad you got some bits today Michelle, wish I was doing the shoes shopping with you tomorrow though! Luuuuuuurve shoes but nothing niceon offer here as yet

Ooh Tim will be watchin the Rugger tomorrow no doubt with the remote in one hand and a beer in the other :wink3:

Like life, my weekend has been planned out before me (mainly by the wife).

Saturday

1. Going to waitrose to look at a new kettle.

2. Going to the post office to post a parcel (i'm an ebay seller).

3. Get road tax for the Land Rover

4. Going to an Art exhibition (Alexandra 'the wife' is an Artist).

5. Going to Argos to buy a VAX 'PET' carpet cleaner.

6. Visit Aunt (retired social worker with an MBE) to see what she thinks of my DLA application before I send it off.

7. Back home and tired out I will probably have to get round to doing that annual company self assessment thing that have been putting off doing today.

8. Walk dog (only one though, probably 'Kitster' Greyhound as its her turn).

9. Sit in front of this computer and do whatever takes my fancy (accounts or audio editing or web design/programing or Ancestry).

Sunday

1. Visiting to the current Ambulance Service First Responder group co-ordinator to discuss me taking over being the group co-ordinator. I stopped being an On-Call First Responder this week as I really am not moving fast enough.

2. Planning. I wish I could make up life as I go along but I can't. I plan things.

3. Walk another dog (this time 'Rosie' the damnation).

4. Actually get round to doing the annual company self assessment thing that I should have done on Saturday.

5. More sitting in front of this computer.

Sunday is shorter than most days as it doesn't start so early.

Regards,

John

Good grief, John, doesn't sound like you suffer from any fatigue! I'd be knackered for the rest of the day just on your point 1 for Saturday!

What do you sell on e-Bay? Do you have a shop and is it anything in particular or just odds and ends that you don't need or want?

John, you're hilarious  My hubby's a big ebay fan. Oh and a word of warning before you go and buy your hoover (I do hope you'll read this before you go) I made the mistake of buying a VAX hoover without actually seeing it in the flesh so to speak. Once bought it was too late to take it back after actually picking the thing up when I first used it. Even on picking it up in the box after purchasing Tim said "ooh it's heavy". Well actually it's horrendously heavy and I won't make that mistake twice, so TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!

As for your jobs lists I plan things a bit like that, only not quite as many things. I did forget one task today though and that's a final leaf clear from the garden this morning, involving both Tim and I. It's been monstrous this garden and thanfully it won't be us that has to do it come next year :wink3:

Have a good weekend everyone

My Weekend so far.

We bought a new kettle at waitrose. They have loads of them on display so you can try them and make sure you like the handles and can open the lids easily.

Went to the Post Office and posted my parcel. I sell second hand computer storage tapes (DLT's for those who know). My company changed their storage media so I volunteered to wipe the data and dispose of the old ones. I have hundreds of them piled up everywhere. They just paid for my new VAX and the Kettle.

I forgot my Land Rover road tax papers so that will have to wait until Monday.

The Land Rover is going to be sold shortly. I can't drive it now.

Then we went to the Art Exhibition. Alexandra is exhibiting one of her pictures there. Its a lovely picture of our Katy (Ancient Burmese cat)

Then we went to Argos. Argos have removed all but two of there seats for people waiting for their collection number. I feel a letter coming on.

We used to run a Cat Sanctuary and the VAX is an old friend of ours. We have got through two already. Even with only the few animals we have left we still need industrial scale cleaning.

Off to see Auntie MBE now.

Yes my legs ache, but they will ache anyway and I may as well have them ache while my two doting Aunts (think Hinge and Bracket) ply me with Coffee and if I am lucky, Apple pie.

Regards,

John :wink3:

Auntie MBE, retired social worker, has filled in loads of these DLA forms for people in the past and Alexandra thought I should run my one by her. Auntie thinks I am selling myself short on the help I need and advised several changes. Most are where I thought I didn't need help and my aunt and my wife think I do.

So now I am preparing the final draft.

I didn't get any Apple Pie but one is promised in the near future

John :wink3:

Blimey! What a busy time you have had... I forgot to buy my cd, and I didn't buy any shoes. Weather here was absolutely awful. Whilst I was out driving I decided to go the pretty route. Mistake! The valley I was travelling through was flooded pretty badly. Police were out in force diverting traffic... which was pretty heavy due to it being the weekend.

Rugby was pants  Wales were defeated by the gorgeous All Blacks  We diid manage to get the Dog out and about though...Good thing I had my spotty wellies on. lt was chucking it down

Asda was manic...there was a technical fault with their tills. I went and sat by another lady who was also shattered. Only difference being ...she was in a bad mood with her husband... who was busy chatting to another woman :lmao: Oe'r Domestic :hairraising

So far, it's been a lazy Sunday morning. I do have to pop out later has we forgot potato's and carrots. As a rule Andrew usually likes to make a list before we go shopping. But he forgot :lmao: I don't think we had our heads screwed on at all yesterday

I had better shoot as I looked like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards.

Have a relaxing Sunday

Last night I started hand writing my DLA application. At about 1am I decided to stop and go to bed. This morning I finished it. Now I have to get Auntie MBE to write the "someone who knows you" bit. An apple pie opportunity.

Also Last night I wrote a covering letter for my application to the Corporation of London for RED badge and free car park season ticket. This morning I took Kitster the grizzlehound for a walk to the post box.

This morning I also groomed Ben the Alsation. Partly because he needed it and partly because I know it annoys him.

Well I am not doing too badly at getting through my list of things I need to do this weekend. I have a book called "Eat that Frog" that is all about getting things done. I have a very big ugly frog still to eat though called the Company Self assessment. I really have to get that done today. Maybe this evening.

Oh, and this morning I was woken by a telephone call from one of my company managers. They were doing a telephone cascade test to see how many people can be contacted in the event of a disaster. This involves managers calling their subordinates and then each of them calls theirs subordinates. So not only did I have to get woken up but then I had to wake other people up too. On a Sunday morning!

What a fun weekend.

Regards,

John.

John, please do throw some of your energy my way!

What's a RED badge? Any links to what it is, so that I can add it to the info section?

I used to have Alsations, gorgeous dogs but too much and too big for me to handle now, can't really manage to keep any pets especially as I travel so much these days.

Hope you can now have a truly fun weekend :wink3:

RED Badges.

The City of London (the square mile in the middle of London) are one of a few exceptions to the nationwide Blue Badge scheme. Your Blue Badge does not allow you to park on meters for free as it does in most places. You can park for 3 hours in especially marked bays and you can park on yellow lines for 30 minutes only with a Blue Badge.

But if like me you want to park all day on any meter for free then you need to apply for a RED badge. The RED badge application has a section for your company to sign and stamp that confirms you are a permanent employee who works within the City of London area. They also allow me to buy an annual Corporation of London Car Park season ticket for

Dear All,

Over the weekend we had the brill experience of clearing out our attic. The junk that Andrew has collected :juggler: Getting rid of most of Andrew army mess kit. The clothes that he's got is unbelieveable. So, it's a trip down to the antique dealer in Cardiff today. We were going to do a car boot sale, but the weather in S.Wales has been awful, especially over night. Our for sale sign blew off during the night. Which saw Andrew retrieving it at 6.30am in his dressing gown. Made me laugh though. He had to go into the road to pick it up...was a sight to see as he came up the road carrying this for sale. Glad the wind didn't blow his dressing gown open :rofl3:

Hope you all had a more exciting weekend than moi.

Anyway our Doo was really good last night amd we didn't get in till half 2 ish :cowboy: (therefore am v.tired today and need some :bed:)

Yes! Middle of night. But it was lying in the main road :cowboy: Don't think it damaged anything.

I have spent most of the afternoon stuck on ebay selling more of Andrew's stuff. Just trying to get rid of things we have accumilated over the years. Thought it would be a good idea before the move.Funny how I got roped into selling though. :bed: Truth is...he was slow and getting on my nerves :rofl3:

Have a good week all

I will do - haven't had chance to watch it today as don't have anywhere comfy to sit until next saturday - oh the joys of moving lol.

i was surprised our for sale sign lasted until after we moved. They notorious for getting up and walking around here, saw one a couple of weeks ago in a street dustbin - wonder how much it cost lol.

OH MY GIDDY AUNT! :juggler:

You lot have just saved my life! I managed to postpone by Annual Appraisal last week. I was thinking how clever I was as this would give me the whole of the following weekend to get it done. THIS WEEKEND. I forgot all about it until I just read this thread. Eek! crikey! and botherment.

So I had better start now instead of writing this.

Basically its a self appraisal report that I write and then discuss with my boss and then we mutually determine if he thinks I am as wonderful as I think I am. But now I am typing just to avoid starting so I had really get on with it.

I dont know if the boss realises I just rewrite last years report and substitute a few words...now I am just procrastinating.

Here I go then ... starting ...

..will you stop reading please. you are preventing me from starting...

Regards,

John :cowboy:

Hope you finished your report. :rofl3:

My Appraisal meeting was today. The boss got my report about three hours earlier so he didn't have much time to read it. We discussed it in detail during the meeting but he also had written his appraisal of me and natually, liking his own words, he mainly talked about his report onme.

The most important result was that he agrees that I met all my objectives, he even agrees that on one I actually exceeded expectations (which rarely happens).

He has not noticed that I cut and pasted 90% of it from last years report. :juggler:

So thats it over for another six months. This one is used to help decide my pay rise and bonus but I don't think it really makes any difference.

The only really useful little gem that came out of this meeting was that learned that security had raised some concerns about how much company knowledge is stored only in my head. Too right it is! thats what makes me valuable.

Perhaps I am reading more between the lines than is actually there but I wonder if, now they are seeing the more visible signs of my MS, they are getting concerned that this knowledge might be at risk. I have been here 20 years, I know how things work, I document nothing. :cowboy:

Regards,

John :rofl3:

(and then my cat reminds me that none of this really matters)
