This is advance warning that the forum will be temporarily closed for installation of an upgrade to the latest version some time next week - which has been much overdue!

During this time, the forum will need to be closed for a few days whilst I work on it. I'll try to keep it closed for as short as possible, but I suspect it might be 2-3 days or so.

As soon as I know a precise date when the forum will temporarily close, I'll let you know. If you should miss my announcement about it and come to the forum when it's closed, you'll see a message on the forum's home page that it's closed for maintenance and asking you to come back in a few days. It might be on Monday, but I don't know yet.

I apologise in advance for the inconvenience to anybody who might be hoping for support during those days.

============

The new forum software will have a slightly new appearance and some new features such as the ability to upload multiple attachments per post, and to quote multiple posts when replying, and more new features. You'll also be able to receive email notifications of posts and topics as a daily or weekly digest as well as the usual immediate notification we presently have.

We'll lose some small features though, but just small ones, mainly the ability to flag a topic which I myself will miss, but some better replacement might come along one day.

Avatars may also get lost along the way, in which case you'll have to redo them all I'm afraid.

For those of you using Firefox (such as myself), we'll be able to use the formatting toolbar again OK :bee:

Update - the installation of the upgrade of the forum software will now take place sooner than expected - tonight.

Therefore, the forum will be temporarily CLOSED from around midnight tonight. I hope to re-open it over the weekend or on Monday.

About Us

Founded in 2004, MS People UK is a community website and discussion forum by and for people with Multiple Sclerosis as well as for friends, families, supporters and those interested in this disabling condition.

If you’re newly diagnosed or want to ask about possible first symptoms, or if you’ve had Relapse Remit, Secondary or Primary Progressive MS for some time, a welcoming group of fellow MS sufferers is here to chat with you about MS symptoms, diagnosis and treatments.

The atmosphere is friendly whilst being compassionate, supportive and caring. Members also post about a variety of subjects not related to MS, as well as share jokes, talk about their hobbies, have fun, and more.
