My walking seems to be getting worse by the day..as it does so I wonder what is going to happen..will I wake one morning and just simply not be able to walk? if there's anyone who has lost the ability to walk (and I'm sure there are many on here) how did it happen? maybe I won't get any worse..and I'll always be able to stumble about..which would be great..any walking would be great..but my legs are soooo weak now..I can barely stand up..they just want to buckle under me..I'm scared I wonder what to expect..if anyone can throw any light on the subject please.
Thanks
Fran
Any one have any tips on walking ? I can't get on with walking stick as I seem to trip even more than without.I don't want to use wheel chair or mobility scooter while I can still move about.

Morning! Hope everyone is well and not too water logged.
I may have posted this question before, but, my memory being the way it is, I really can't remember, so wanted to pick a few brains, so to speak.
Last year I had problems with my walking, my right knee wanted to give way and it felt weak. Eventually after a few months it seemed better and I was able to cast aside the stick. However since Xmas time, I have noticed that a small amount of walking results in my legs feeling soooo tired and as if I have a build of lactic acid....as jane Fonda used to say 'the burn' . The distances I am walking are getting smaller and smaller before this kicks in and even just walking up thirteen stairs in my house makes me feel like I am going to collapse in a heap.
I have had back surgery twice in the past, and been left with nerve damage from that, but this is a new thing, which has followed on from severe neuropathic pain in my right hand that started back in November. It has got easier, but it still is painful and numb and hypersensitive to heat and cold. So I am not sure whether it might just be back related or not.
Does anyone else suffer the same pain when walking?
Thanks for reading this

Over the last three months or so, I have become more reliant on a walking stick whilst I am out.
I now take it everywhere, and have come to regret it if I don't.
I find that when I am walking around the house I am not too bad, probably because I am walking then sitting intermittently, apart from today, as I have woke up and my right leg refuses to work at all, and just gives way, feeling like a lump of lead.
However, when I am going out, I find that on the outset of my journey, I can walk quite well, but as I continue, it goes completely to pot, probably fatigue being the cause.
For those of you with walking issues, what type of pattern have you noticed?
