Sonia,

I read this with great attention and can see similarites and differences to my own situation, as I suppose others will too, after all it seems we are all members of the same club, not that any of us ever asked to join!.

What a great shock is was for all of us to get that 'diagnosis' and looking back we can see just how long it has taken to pick ourselves up again. A work in progress perhaps?

It seems crazy but I am positive about life, you only get one chance, and there was never any chance that anyones life would ever go to plan. My own EDSS has gone from 4.5 to 6 in the time I have been diagnosed, not bad as it is now over 10 years since I had to quit work, a job I loved, and had to re-invent myself. I'm a fair bit older than yourself, now 63 and while it was hard making the changes I feel luckier than had I been diagnosed at an earlier age. I too have a basic wheelchair which I only use when needed. My scooter is my main mode of transport along with a modified car. Still get about using too sticks and more importantly still 'do stuff'

Many thanks again for the link to your words, well spoken, if that makes sense.

Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it.

Driving/scooters are out for me, it was just ataxia when I was diagnosed but now the nystagmus messes with my vision too much... suspect that the fact I wanted totally manual helped with wheelchair services. The chair was ready to collect on Tues even tho I was anticipating a log wait and a long assessment from the letter they sent me. It was only when he started explaining really techie stuff to Rob and altering everything to fit me that we asked and he said, yes, it's yours!

They also very happily took mine, to service it and use on a ward :wheelchair:

Yes, I might be late 40's but as my Mum said, I've done a lot so at least I have those experiences to remember.

Next month I'm going to my first gig in my chair - at the Royal Albert Hall too, so very excited.

I did go there once before, my good friend took me to the ballet many years ago. We went to see Romeo & Juliet and it was amazing but we were right up in the gods. This time we'll actually be on the floor as they have platforms and I'm 2nd row on one of those! So fingers crossed :hearts:

Nice blog.

I find it therapeutic to be able to just write about things in this fashion.

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,

Running over the same old ground.

What have we found?

The same old fears.
