Hi suinegrekopa,

I'm not sure if I've experienced what you're describing or not. I have had occasions where after walking a reasonable distance at any kind of speed my lower legs get increasingly numb and painful and it feels like my feet are slapping down onto the ground. It hasn't happened for a while though as I tend to manage it by not walking so fast :clapping:

Do you have an MS Nurse? It might be worth a chat with him or her to see if they have any suggestions.

Hi S

Ive not had that. Could it be the result of foot drop

My immediate thought was a case of foot drop. The foot just hangs on the ankle so that when you walk, the heel goes down and the rest of the foot just flaps down.

There are splints that you can wear that fit round your calf, down the back of your leg and under the foot. They're designed to hold the foot up on the ankle (to avoid flapping) and to stimulate the muscles to start working again.

Chase this problem up with your MS Nurse or medical support team.

    • Can't walk on my heels

Does anyone know what this shows? I know Neuro's ask you to walk on your heels but I don't know what it means if you can't. It's bizzarre I can walk backwards ish however I do fall over but cannot go forwards on my heels it feels like me heels have been superglued to the floor. My ankles don't bend far enough so I end up sticking my bum out and leaning forward to compensate. Very hard to explain and hilarious to watch also.

    • burning feet

Hiya ive had terrible burning feet especially at nite. I cant sleep because of it. I even have my feet sticking out of the duvet at nite which is completely alien to me cause I normally have really cold feet. I have it during the day too and most days I stubble around with bare feet. Is this a symptom of MS OR just my MS or could it be a reaction to rebif (but I have had this before I started rebif and in the extreme heat we had.)   Does any body suffervwith this   Vanessa x
